      JONESBORO - Marcia "Nana" L. Beal Schoppee, 91, passed away Jan. 13, 2009, at Sunrise Care Facility, Jonesport, after a long illness. She was born March 16, 1917, in Jonesport, daughter of the late Lewis F. and Sybil (Fickett) Beal, the oldest of five daughters. Marcia worked at several local sardine factories. In later years, she worked as a cook at Whitehouse Restaurant. She was also a tax collector and town clerk for the town of Jonesboro for several years. She was an avid Granger. Marcia received the Boston Post Cane for Jonesboro, June 2, 2007. She enjoyed cooking for her family and until her illness, her cookie jar was never empty. Marcia is survived by a son, Lewis L. "Honey Bun" Gilman; a daughter, Sarah (Gilman) Lenfestey and husband, Mike, all of Jonesboro; five grandchildren, Lori Pritchard and husband, Darren, of Jonesboro, Lorena Beal and husband, Wyatt, of Tremont, Michele Lenfestey of Whitneyville, Melissa Veith and husband, Matthew, of Jonesboro and Myron "Mike Jr." Lenfestey and wife, Rebecca, of Frenchboro; 10 great-grandchildren, David and Christopher Pritchard of Jonesboro, Mariner and Audrey Lynne Beal of Tremont, Michael Lenfestey and Frederick MacLean of Whitneyville, Emily Veith of Jonesboro, Myron III, Bradley and Seth Lenfestey of Frenchboro; and two sisters, Gloria Floyd and Lois Thistlewood, both of Jonesport. She will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews and other family members. Marcia was predeceased by two sisters, Almeda Drisko and Vivian Beal; and her first husband, Guy P. Gilman in 1944, leaving her to raise two children. She was also predeceased by her second husband, Charles E. Schoppee in 1967; and six brothers-in-law. The family would especially like to give a special thank you to the staff at Sunrise Care Facility for their special care of "Nana." A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Machias, with Evangelist Charles Lakeman officiating.
