Text: Obituary of Edna L. (Farmer) Cline
CALAIS and LUBEC - Edna L. Cline, 75, died peacefully April 4, 2003, following a prolonged battle with multiple illnesses. She died at her home in Calais, with members of her family by her side. She was born in Lubec June 7, 1927, the daughter of Gailon and Jane (VanTassel) Farmer.
Edna was a graduate of Lubec High School, Class of 1947. She was married to Edward Cline Sept. 9, 1951, at the Christian Temple Church in Lubec. Edna was a devoted and loving mother who will be very much missed by her 10 children. Until her retirement in 1989, she was employed for 15 years by J. J. Newberry of Calais.
Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Edward Cline of Calais; 10 children, Cathy and Robert Mitchell of Arrowsic, Rebecca and Michael Harding of St. Stephen, N.B., Christopher Cline of Calais, Michael and Tess Cline of Phippsburg, Timothy and Rhonda Cline of Windham, Wendy and Daniel McBride of St. Stephen, N.B., Clara and Elliott Miller of Yarmouth, Lori and Michael Ellis of Calais, Peter Cline of Norfolk, Va., Lisa and Joseph Kolczynski of Sebago; 16 grandchildren, Daniel and Andrew Mitchell, Nina and Dylan Harding, Nathaniel, Rachel and Emily Cline, Meaghan and Hannah McBride, Sarah Miller, Patrick and Dustin Ellis, Natalie Louise Cline, Caitlyn, Gailon and Edward Kolczynski. She was blessed with one great-grandson, Trypp Haddon of St. Stephen, N.B.; and two sisters, Thelma O'Conner of California and Minnie Ross of Machias.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, Calais. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church, Calais, with Pastor Nancy Huntington officiating. A gathering of relatives and friends will follow services at the Thelma Ross Parish Hall. Graveside services will be in the spring at the Green Acres Cemetery, Lubec.
