      George A. Ferguson

George A. Ferguson, a former resident of Eastport, passed away at the Beth Israel Hospital in Brookline, Mass. on Friday, September 5, 1952. Mr. Ferguson will well be remembered here in Eastport when as a young man, he was engaged in the trucking business. In 1928 he moved to Boston and became foreman of the produce department at the A & P warehouse, where he worked until poor health forced his retirement last September. He was a member of the K. of P. Lodge of Eastport.

George A. Ferguson was born in Eastport on March 28, 1883, the son of George J. Ferguson and Margaret McCullough Ferguson, and was one of a large family the greater number of whom have passed away.

Funeral services were conducted at the Waterman Funeral Parlor, 497 Commonwealth Avenue, Monday, September 8th and interment was at Hillside cemetery, Eastport, Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock, September 9th. Reverend Cedric Brooks of the Washington Street Baptist Church read the committal services which were attended by the family and a large group of friends.

Mr. Ferguson is survived by his widow, Gertrude McCoy Ferguson of Boston, and three sons, Daniel of Everett; Ernest of Denver, Colorado, and Edmund of North Wilmington, Mass., and one sister, Eleanor Ferguson of Boston.
