Note: Isaac Fly was a widower; and he and the widow Bailey went to reside in a house presumably built by Col. Thomas Westbrook for mill-hand purposes, which was painted red inside and out, standing now upon the original site at Stroudwater, a few rods northerly from the northesterly corner of the bridge over Mill creek, it having been turned so as to front the street, a story added and an ell also. As originally constructed it faced upon "Shipyard Point," which was a busy part of the village most of the time from the date of Westbrook's advent (1727) till near 1850 when vessel building ceased wholly. Within my own recollection there was built at the same time two vessels etween the Fly house and the creek, which creek forms the southerly boundery of the Point......
