ANNIE L. BENNER
CALAIS and PERRY - Annie Laura (Leach) Benner, 85, cherished mother, sister, and grandmother, left this earth on March 11, 2002, at her home in Calais, to be in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior. She was born Nov. 11, 1916, at Perry, the daughter of George and Annie (Johnson) Leach.
Annie was a past member of the Redmens Lodge of Perry.
She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil F. Benner in 1967; three sons, Robert L., William C., and Cecil F. Benner Jr.; also two brothers, Edwin and Russell Leach.
Survivors include two sons, Philip Benner and his wife, Marilyn of Manchester, Tenn., Eugene Benner and his wife, Myrna of Berwick; two daughters, Margaret Ford of Mineral Wells, Texas and Helen Hawkins of St. Stephen, N.B., Canada; one brother, Samuel Leach of Norfolk, Va.; two sisters, Doris Morrison of Perry and Helen Watt of Orange, Calif.; 23 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
The time she shared with her family while here was blessed with love, laughter and eternal memories. Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today, at the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, Calais. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Bob Hinton, 2 p.m. Thursday, at the Perry Congregational Church. Burial will follow in the Leland Cemetery, Perry. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the American Heart Association would be greatly appreciated.
