Casey - John Philip Casey, 73, died Oct. 27, 1996, in Calais. he was born in Milltown, N.B. June 23, 1923, the son of James Bernard and Florence (Coffron) Casey. He was a World War II Air Force veteran and member of Sherman Brothers Post No. 3 American Legion of Calais, and was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church of Calais.
Phil was predeceased by a son, John P. Casey Jr., in 1993; and his wife Dorothy in 1995.
Surviving are a son, Daniel F. Casey of Calais; one daughter, Mary Anne Casey of Calais; three sisters - Mary Casey of Cathance Lake, Eleanor Moody of La Plata, Md., and Eileen Bazzachini of Hibbing, Minn.; four grandchildren - Troy, Mike, Heather and Meghan Casey; several Nieces and nephews.
Friends called Monday at the Scott-Wilson Funeral Home, Calais, where the Rosary was recited. A Mass of christian Burial was celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church of Calais with the Rev. Brian Blanchette, Celebrant. Burial was in Calais Cemetery.
Refreshments were offered at the Rev. Andrew J. Arseneau Parish Hall following burial.
