Mrs. R. E. Lawrence's Funeral Set Today
Life-Long Resident Was Active in Church
Funeral services for Mrs. Rowena Ewing Lawrence, 76, who died yesterday afternoon at her home, 3804 Princeton Avenue, following a short illness will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock at the Cosmopolitan Funeral Home.
A members of one of Nashville's oldest families, Mrs. Lawrence had spent all her life here. She was the widow of the late Risley P. Lawrence who died several years ago. She was a life-long member of the Vine Street Christian Church and was active in church affairs until ill health confined her to her home several years ago.
She is survived by two sons, Albert Ewing Lawrence of Nashville and Major General Thompson Lawrence of Camp Van Dorn, Miss.; a daughter, Mrs. Henry McClelland of Nashville; two brothers, A. G. and Mark C. Ewing of Nashville; and four sisters, Miss Mary Ewing, Mrs. Milbrey Gordon, Mrs. Henrietta C. Harsh, and Mrs. Margarette Phillips.
Funeral services will be conducted by Dr. Roger T. Nooe with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
