If you are interested, Morris Hoag, born 1810 had another child - MorrisJudson Hoag. Morri s Judson was born 1834,
the first child of Morris & Lovina Hoag. He appears in the 1850 census atage 15 living wit h a Benedict family in Laurens, Otsego Co. NY.
The rest of the family are living in Butternuts, Otsego Co., NY. Probablybecause he was not l iving with the family and never before
researched, he was never connected to Morris & Lovina Hoag. There were ofthe Quaker faith. Mo rris 2nd married twice - 1st to an
Adeline (?), had one child - Merrill born c. 1872-3 (1870 census, Page#6, New Albion, Cattara ugus Co., NY., family #55.) She died and
he then married c. 1874 Mary Ann Evangeline Alverson. See 1880 censusp.30 New Albion, Cattara ugus Co., NY family #334. M. J. Hoag,
Evangeline, Merrill, Ada & Grace. In 1900 Morris & Evangeline are livingin New Albion Twp., C att Co, with children Bernice, Edna &
Morris (b. 1891). (Supvr. Dist. 186, ED #54). The Morris shown in t!
he 1900 census at age 8 became the father of an Ervin Hoag b. 1924, stillliving, who is the f ather of my daughter-in-law, Melissa Hoag.
Morris Judson also had another son, Martin, still living. It seems thatbecause the first youn g Morris at age 15 was living with another
family, in Otsego County, and was overlooked. He does not appear in anyof the family tree s I have found on the internet. All of the
information I have is documented by family and census records. Mary AnnEvangeline Alverson co mes from a famous Alverson family that is
posted in the World Family Trees. No information is posted on the familytrees about Mary An n Evangeline either, although there is a
lot about her brother Anson and father Emery. I know this is confusing, but there was an olde r brother to Lucius & Mary that no one
seems to know about.

Here is some of the information you have requested. I am new atthis so perhaps I won't kno w how exactly to send you the familyhistories, etc. But here goes:
1850 Census: 8/24/1850 Town of Laurens, Otsego Co., NY Morris age 15 farmer, living wit h Family 372, Albert Benedict. Role M432/580-P. 245,Image 493. His father, mother Lovinia, A deline, Mary and Lucius were living in Butternuts, Otsego Co. at this time. In the 1850 cens us pages I found several other young Hoags living with families other than their own. It mus t have been a practice for the children to either help other members of the extended familie s or just to have work.
1860 Census: 8/13/1860 - Potters Corner, East Hamburg, Erie, PA Family#1372. Morris Hoag , age 26. Farm Laborer. Had a hard time locating himfor this era, but because so many of th e family migrated to Erie, PA, Idecided to look there. I found him, age 26, living with a Hi ram Hoag & family. There was an Elias Hoag living next to Hiram. Morris had acousin, Elias , son of Isaac. So far I am not sure of the connection, but believe Hiram and Elias are eith er cousins or uncles and he went there to work with them for a while. ****WRONG CENSUS****

Page 6/38, New Albion,Cattaraugus Co., NY Visitation #60/Family #5 5 Not sure what Adeline'slast name was. But their son Merrill, was born about 1873-74. A delinedied around this time and Morris J. married Mary Evangeline Alverson. She was the daught er of Emery Alverson. There is a lot about theAlverson's in the Word Family Trees. I foun d her living with her fatherin 1860 in Kansas. Her mother died and he remarried. Around tha t time,Mary Evangeline came back to live with her brother, Anson E. Alverson, who lived in Ne w Albion, Cattaraugus Co., NY. She is found living withAnson & family, age 16 in 1870. Sh e married Morris J. c. 1875 when shewas about 21. He was twenty years older than her. The H oags wereQuakers. Don't know about the Alversons. But perhaps he met her thrutheir church . He had a baby son, Merrill at that time.

So far I have not been able to find them in 1910. I did find MerrillHoag & family in 1910 st ill living in New Albion, Catt Co., NY. Censusdated 4/19/1910. Supv. Dist. 20, ED #74. Merri ll, age 36, Agnes wife, age 34, a daughter Helen B. age 11 and infant son. I believe Morri s Jdied c. 1908 and am still looking for the rest of the family. Morris, would have been abo ut 19 in 1910.
In 1920 he is married and living in Richmond Boro., NYC. ED 1608. Aboutthis time they starte d spelling the name Maurice, but still pronouncedMorris. He married to Aileen Kelly (Ailee n is the correct spelling, census spells it Eileen). It gives his age as 25, but the 1930 cen susgives his age as 38. We all know how wrong these census pages can be.The 1920 census i s for ED 1608, Richmond Boro, NYC. They have one son atthis time, Martin, age 1-1/2.
In 1930 he is found still living in Port Richmond, Richmond Co., NY4/21/1930. E.D. 43-347 an d SD #27, Sheet #14A.
Had a hard time finding him as his name is given as "Mars" Hoag. Age 35(?) should be at leas t 38! Son Martin, age 11, daughter Aileen, age 9and Ervin, age 6.
.Also living with them at this time is Caroline Kelly, who was the motherof Aileen Kelly. Ca roline Kelly is formerly Caroline Sanders. ThisSanders family is descended from John Sanders , Sr. b. Abt. 1772 inCabarrus Co., North Carolina.
John Sanders Sr. - John Sanders, Jr. - John Sanders & Melissa Dianah File- Caroline Sanders . Caroline Sanders married Martin Van Buren Kelly.Martin V.B. Kelly died 1/2/1915 in State n Island, NY. His widowCaroline is found living with daughter Aileen Kelly Hoag in 1930.
.Ervin Hoag (still living) is the father of my daughter-in-law, MelissaAnn Hoag, living in No rth New Jersey. His brother Martin is also stillliving in Vineland, NJ. They supplied m e with a lot of information thatis backed up by the above cited census, etc.
.I am sending you a generation outline as an attachment to another email.
Hope this helps. If you need more info that I didn't send, please let meknow.
