Obituary, The Recorder, Gore Bay, Thursday, December 5, 1912
The community was thrown in the deepest of gloom on Saturday evening Nov. 30, when Mrs. James Morden passed away. She leaves a husband and five children, Louise, Maggie, Robert, Marie and an infant son. She was beloved by all who knew her and was a member of the Home department and Women's Institute both of which showed their sympathy by making two beautiful floral wreaths which were placed on the casket. Rev. G. A. Bainborough spoke at the house before leaving with the remains which were interred in Gordon Cemetery. The pallbearers were Mr. H. Mervyn, Mr. E. Eaton, Mr. E. A. Letts, Mr. D. D. Griffith, Mr. W.O. Runnalls and Mr. T. Allen. The bereaved husband and family have the sympathy of the community.

The Jury Thinks The Doctor Was Lax
Death Due to Unknown Causes
The following is a copy of the Juror's verdict as a result of the Coroner's inquest on the body of the late Mrs. Jas. Morden who died recently at Barrie Island. The inquest was conducted by Dr. McDonald, of Little Current, the coroner for the District.
"We, the coroner's Jury, called to enquire into the death of the late Mrs. Cornelia Louisa Morden, find that from the evidence adduced, her death was from unknown causes. That the attending physician was lax in leaving his patient so soon after child-birth, and we are of the opinion that had he remained, Mrs. Morden's life might have been spared.
We would recommend the evidence be brought to the attention of the Ontario College of Physicians & Surgeons and also to the Attorney General's department."
