Paul Johnson, grandson of George, who lived in Chicago, wrote a letter to Naola Mae (Haase)

in 1997, her brother John Haase found these records and incorporated the data into the Scott family
Fairfield, WI cannot be found on the map. It's location came from a church located in Section 32, Jefferson Township, Green Couty, WI., southeast of Monroe.
Paul indicated the Isaac Hummel farm, where he was born, was located approximately a mile south and 1/2 east of the Fairfield Church. Hattie and Vera were born there and if they had been born across the street, they would have been born in Illinois. The
George Hummel family moved to Afolkey in about 1903, then to Freeport about 1920 and lived in retirement, busy with various activities and church work. Being of poor health, they were taken into the home of their daughter Vera. Her husband, Rev. Johnson was then the pastor of the Trinity Church
in Peoria. Edith continued to live with Vera for about six years after the death of George. By then Rev.
and Mrs. Johnson had been transferred to Bethany Evangelical Church of Highland Park, Illinois.
