    Came to New England on the ship "William and Francis", 1632. Freeman of Roxbury 1634. Listed as "manservant." A freeman of Roxbury November 5, 1633. He moved to Hartford in 1635, and was an original proprietor.
    Quote from John Eliot, 'Apostle to the Indians,' [Hills went] "to Hartford on Conecticutt, where he lived several years, without giving such good satisfaction to the consciences of the saints." On June 4, 1640 William Hill of Hartford was fined 4 pounds for "buying a stolen piece of Mr. Plum's man and breaking open the cobbler's hogshead and pack."
    About his first wife it was said "God wrought upon her heart in this land; she grew deaf, which disease increasing was a great affliction to her."
    He was constable of Hartford, 1643-1644. In 1653 put in charge of training on the east side of the Connecticut River. His will was proven in December 1683. FAMILIES OF EARLY HARTFORD, CONNECTICUT, Barbour, p. 301 and 703. Shot by Indians in King Phillip's War in 1675. DEATH: Will dated 25 Feb. 1681/1682, Probate Records of Conn., p. 321, Vol 1, pub 1904. Will proven, December 1683 gives names of all his children. !Mary Warner was his third wife, they had three children as noted in the book, Early Hartford. He came in 1632 on the William and Francis.
