In April I visited the family homeplace where Alma and Dude lived. The house I think they lived in is still standing, although it has been abandoned for many years. I believe it is the same house that is in the photo I have of Alma, Dude and their family. It looks as if it had been added on to over the years but I am almost certain it is the same one. The house I remember (and still stands and is in use) was built (I'm guessing) before or after Dude's remarriage. When I was there the man who now owns the ranch asked me if anyone had ever died in that house, I told him I had no idea. He said that he has had several people, totally unrelated, tell him they thought that house was haunted. The present owner has turned the place into a horse ranch and uses that house as kind of a bed and breakfast. Anyway, I thought that was kind of interesting. If you are interested, it is called Little Bear Ranch in Lampasas, Texas and can be found on the internet.

Interested in Rev. Alonzo Atkinson and daughter Alma Annie.
Alonzo Atkinson. I believe to be my g.g. grandfather. I believe he had a daughter named Alma Annie Atkinson who was born Dec 12, 1885 and died on March 29, 1915. I have a copy of her obit which states her father was once a Cumberland Presbyterian minister in Goldthwaite. I also have a copy of his confederate pension application. I have yet to find any real proof that is was the father of my g. grandmother. For obvious reasons her mother would have to have been his second wife.
