David was born at Redstone Fort, PA. which is now located in Brownsville, Fayette Co., PA. married 3 times: 1st, Eleanor Scott on Aug 20, 1799 in Jefferson Co., KY.; 2nd, Minnie Blackwell on Mar 23, 1809 in Clark Co., IN.; 3rd, Araminta (Minta Gullett - her married name - widow of William Gullett) Gladson on May 07, 1821 in Clark Co., IN.
His father deeds him a farm on Aug. 7, 1799 next to his. From "Abstracts of Wills & Executors Records", Clark Co., IN., 1808-1833 shows Minty Stewart, his widow, and a son, James W. Stewart as administrators dated Sep 22, 1830. According to Floyd County Land Records, Book D, page 444, recorded Oct 19, 1830 James W. Stewart obtained an indenture on 200 acres DAVID STEWART bought from James Prather. Both James Prather and David Stewart are now deceased. The land was in the Illinois Tract in Clark County, IN., but lies in Floyd Co., after the formation of Floyd Co. in 1819. Other heirs-in-law of said David Stewart, deceased were Simeon S. Stewart, Pauline Stewart, Amelia Stewart and David Stewart.
From drawing of where his house was located and where his father's house was located, the Stewart family cemetery is between the two properties. On the 1830 Clark Co., IN. census, he is listed next to Abednego Richardson (who bought his father's farm). This is the only logical place for his burial. Researched and written by Laura J. Stewart.
