Hi Vivian....thought I would contact you directly to follow up on ou r discussion.......have you ever been able to follow Samuel.....

I found Sh Court Orders 1818 Samuel vs Joshua Gardner debt...but no ot her records.....
Sarah I believe is in the 1820 census with one son and 4 daughters bu t after that she disappears also......I believe Samuel died between 18 18 and 1820....

There is a court order in 1816 where the Overseerers of the poor bin d out Anthony Browne, Exum Browne, James Glover, Jesse Glover, Velvasa ny Glover and Elizabeth Johnson.....to break these down:
    Anthony I believe is mine
    Exum probably a brother
James Glover....there were 2 James Glovers in Sh ...one the son of Sam uel and the other the son of Jesse.....James the son of Samuel was bor n 1807...he's a good possibility, Jesse's son James I have born at lea st by 1817 when named in his aunt Elizabeth Darden's will as son of Je sse but I am not sure how much earlier.....

Jesse Glover son of Jesse...not named in aunts will 1817 so places bir th after that...I think around 1820....he marries Margaret Ferguson... so could not be child bound out......

Could Jesse, James and Velvasany be children of Samuel?

Do you know what happened to Mary Glovers brother George?

I obtained in 1990 a copy of The Glover Family of Marblehead and Salem , Essex County, Massachusetts and Southampton County, Virginia by Ralp h Franklyn Schaeffer (1974)held by the Norfolk City Library.
This seems to be a record of the descendents of Samuel Glover and Sara h Jordan through their son, James William Glover and wife, Annie Bryan t Glover. Therein it states "Samuel Glover, son of George and his wif e Margaret, married on March 10, 1803, in Southampton County, Sarah Jo rdan. The service was performed by the Reverend Benjamin Barnes."
This marriage is also listed by the LDS Church in their IGI Index.
I personally have not checked this marriage at Southampton Courthouse.

Sue, that marriage is listed in the Marriage Bonds & Minister's
Returns of Southampton Co VA 1750-1810 by Knorr.
It's on page 49 in the book --

10 March 1803. Samuel Glover & Sarah Jordan. Married by the Rev.
Benjamin Barnes, Methodist. Minister's returns page 656.
