Not known where Olive met Frank Carley. He was a descendant of Joseph Carley who came to Canada in 1830 from County Wexford, Ireland. Grew up on his grandfather's (Thomas Carley) farm. He came west with at least 2 of his brothers and they ran the hotel in Kindersley for a time. Fred Rome owned the lumber yard in Kindersley during this time. Olive and Frank first lived in Alsask, SK where Mildred was born. (and I think Bruce and Al too). Frank owned the hotel there before moving on to own the hotel in Unity, SK. By 1923 they were living in Lashburn, SK, where Frank had a bakery. When young Leonard was very small, the family moved to Lloydminster AB/SK border, where Frank started a restaurant. During those years Leonard went often to visit his grandparents in Saskatoon (Olive and Verna's parents). He remember William Maywood as being a very tall man.
