    ________________________
The following information was told to the compiler on 19 Sept 1991, by Katherine Harper Boesch, Horace's secretary for many years and his second wife .

Horace was named after a close friend of his father's, Horace Tibble. The baptismal records at Emmanuel Church have him listed as H. Joseph Henry Boesch, and is listed in the Montgomery County records as Harrison Boesch.

When his father, Joseph Boesch Sr., died, Horace was 20 years old and his youngest brother was only 6. Horace took charge of the family and acted as their father. However, his caused some resentment since he tended to continue that role even though they were adults. Much of the resentment passed over the years, but Charles always refused to practice law with him.

His father did not want Horace to become an attorney, he preferred that Horace follow in his as a merchant tailor and was very disappointed. Horace graduated from the University of Cincinnati.

Horace and Al Grillio had many business and real estate deals together, one of which involved exchanging a section of land. They owned land that the Miami Conservancy District wanted and the that land was swapped for some land that the Miami Conservancy District owned and the University of Dayton wanted. The deeds were exchanged and the land donated to the University of Dayton. That land is where the UD Arena now stands. They had season tickets to all of the UD home basketball games.
