    Barbara came to the United States in 1853.

    Barbara's husband, Joseph John Stephan, was a wagon maker and saddler and was considered well off. They lived near St. Elizabeth Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. The address was 158 Hopeland St. and at the time it was farm land.

    They brought Joseph's niece, Aurelia, from Germany and raised her, after her parents had died. Alma Aurelia Bucher Boesch (BUC .1.7.9) was named for this niece.

    Barbara died of bronchio-pneumonia and is buried with her husband and niece at Calvary Cemetery with a beautiful headstone of the dead Christ in Mary's arms.

    She is buried with her husband and his niece in Calvary Cemetery Section 1 Lot 218 in Dayton, Ohio.
