Lucius and his wife apprently moved to New York shortly after their marriage as their first child, Roswell, is consistenly shown in the census records as born in New York. Their second child, Clarissa, is consistenly shown as born in Massachusetts, and perhaps Celinda returned to Berkshire Co. for her confinement. The next eight children were all born in New York.

1840 Census, New York, Monroe County
    Lucius CLARK, 1 male under 5, 1 10-15, 2 20-30, and 1 female 20-30.

Marriage and children from "Clark-Phelps Bible" in New York DAR Bible Records, Vol 15, Page 54-56.

"The New York DAR Volumes," Volume 23, Page 25, record that he and Lucius Clark and Celinda Smith are buried in small cemetery north of Chile, New York. Their joint tombstone shows their dates of death and age at death and on the obverse are recorded the date of death and ages of two of their children, Cynthia and Sarah. As Celinda died 43 years after Lucius, it is likely this headstone was done after her death. Records for that cemetery show that also buried in the same cemetery are Lucius' father, Eliphalet, his brother, Nathan Fay Clark, and his mother-in-law, Betsy Hallett.
