Frank Spielmann, 68, of Hartford, former resident of the Humboldt Community, died Monday morning at the home of his son, Eugene, near Madison. He had been in poor health for the past eight months.
Death came suddenly to Mr. Spielmann. He had gone to Madison Sunday to assist his son on the farm. He was helping unload baled hay when he was seized by a heart attack.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday in St. George's Catholic Church in Hartford. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Spielmann was born 8-27-1888 at Hartford, SD. He was married in 1911 and his wife preceded him in death in 1933. He farmed all his life in the Hartford and Humboldt communities, except for a short time near Chester, SD. He had retired from farming and was living in Hartford since 1950.
Survivors are a son, Eugene, Madison, SD; four daughters, Mrs. Alice Munce, Browns Valley, Minn.; Mrs. Elenora Steineke, Sioux Falls, SD; Mrs. Virginia Stineke, Hartford, SD; and Mrs. Mary Ann Benson, Hartford, SD; three brothers, Felix, Humboldt; Mike, Hartford; and John, Sioux Falls; two sisters, Mrs. Sophia Ziegler, Hartford; Mrs. Ann Gillen, San Francisco, Calif.; and 22 grandchildren.
