    E.H. "Jack" Tacke, 90, a former state senator and real estate and insurance broker died of complications of Parkinsonís disease Wednesday, Marcy 27, 1991 at the Grangeville Care Center.
    He was born to Herman and Elizabeth Wahle Tacke February 23, 1901 at Danbury, Iowa, and the following year his parents moved to Cottonwood. He received his education at Cottonwood and Mtg. Angel, Oregon.
    Tacke married Merline Untereiner June 7, 1926, at Dimock, SD. After their marriage they operated their farm south of Cottonwood. They moved to Grangeville in 1932 after he was elected Idaho County Assessor. He served 5 terms in that position. They returned to the farm in 1942 and he entered the real estate business.
    He was appointed manager of the Cottonwood Federal Land Bank in 1953 and served in that capacity until 1966.
    He was elected State Senator from District 8 in 1973 and served two terms, retiring in 1977.
    He was chairman for many civic projects including the Grangeville Swimming Pool, and the Idaho County Farm Museum. Tacke was a communicant of St. Maryís Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a charter member and past president of both the Grangeville and Cottonwood Lions Clubs.
    Survivors include his wife at the Grangeville Care Center; three sons, Mark Tacke of Cottonwood, Tom Tacke of Seattle and Jack Tacke of Arlington, WA; a daughter, Sister Mary Paule of Transkei, South Africa; 15 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by two sons, R.L. (Pat) Tacke and William Tacke; a brother, Raymond A. Tacke; and a sister, Hilda Seubert.
    Rosary was recited Sunday, March 31, at St. Maryís Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was held Monday, April 1, at St. Maryís with Father Joseph Muha officiating. Burial followed at Cottonwood Catholic Cemetery.
    Pallbearers were Fred Seubert, George Seubert, J.P. Seubert, Melvin Frei, Steve Tacke and Martin Tacke.
    Uhlorn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
