Frank M. Arthur Schulz, pastor of the Unityville Baptist church. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill cemetery by the side of his wife, who died eight years ago.
Frank M. Serles was born at Oregon, Dane County, Wisconsin on October 17, 1854. When he was 13 years of age the family moved to Missouri, where they resided for one year and then after the death of his father, they returned to Wisconsin.

Two years later the drought drove them out of Kansas and they moved into Missouri, living there until march 1881, when they came to this county and homesteaded on the farm in Pearl township, located three miles west of Unityville, SD, which Mr. Serles still owned at the time of his death.
From that time until the death of his wife, which occurred on January 30, 1931, he made his home on this farm and since then had lived with his daughter, Mrs. John A. Jackson, at Bison, SD.
He will be remembered here as a sincere, industrious and courteous gentleman, who had the respect and esteem of all who knew him. In the earlier years of his life in this county he was quite active in public affairs and between 30 and 35 years ago served as a member of the board of county commissioners of Mc Cook County.
