Harm Smook, 89, of Sioux Falls, SD died Friday, September 12, 2003 at Good Samaritan Village, Sioux Falls, SD.
Harm was born October 3, 1913 in Adrian, MN. He attended school in Ellsworth, MN until moving to Sioux Falls with his family in 1921. Harm completed his education in Sioux Falls. In July of 1943, he entered military service and served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He received his honorable discharge in 1945. Harm worked as a pressman in the commercial printing business, first with Will A. Beach Co. and later for Brown & Saenger. He retired in 1979 after 30 years in the printing business.
On April 11, 1953, he was united in marriage with Margaret Dibbern in Sioux Falls. She preceded him in death on December 15, 2000.
Harm was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, the VFW and the American Legion.
Grateful for having shared his life are his daughter, Mary Pat Petit and her husband, David, of Sioux Falls, SD; one son, Gordon Smook and his wife, Dorene, of Libby, MT; eight grandchildren, Eric, Tanya, Nicholas, Lance, John, Jeremy, Shawn, and Heather; nine great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Joe Smook of Sioux Falls; and two sisters, May Lanners of Sioux Falls, SD; and Gert Hartnet, living in California.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.
