From, info in Va. Showes that William Crittindon served 3 years in the Continental line and received the original warrant #2284. William married into the Rogers family who moved to Ky, and lived close to Lexington. The above deed states Absolom Stratton is assignee of Edward Reaves. Also note Absolom's line is next to Isham Reaves. It is my belief that Absolom either bought or was given the original warrant to get his land. But he had other land there also. Also the deed which refers to the warrant #2284 was for 200 acres but the warrant was for only 100 acres. I have not see the back of the warrant to see who it as assigned to first. annd

    2. Absolom Strutton 200 acres survey date 8-29-1799 Warren County in Bk 13

    No water course given.

    3. Absolom Stratton 45 acres 10-04-1821 Simpson County Drakes Ck Bk H pg 392

    4. Absolom Stratton 50 acres 7-1-1824 Drakes Ck Simpson Co., Book T pg 146.

This totals 495 acres of land Absolom Stratton owned on or close to Drakes Ck which became Simpson County, Ky.

There is no proof that our Absolom Stratton ever served in the Reveloution War. He was too young. In 1810 he is under 25 years old and the same ratio in 1820 & 30 along with Winnie Ennis Stratton his wife.
