DEATH COMES ON SUNDAY TO MR. M'CREARY
Health Had Been Failing Some Time But Was Confined Only a Week.
Was Distinguished In His Profession---Prominent In Public Work.
Death came to W. P. McCreary 63, March 16, 1919, at 5 o'clock p. m. at the family residence, 919 North St., Joseph avenue. Mrs. McCreary a nd their daughter, Miss Dorothy McCreary were present at the time of Mr. M cCreary's death.
While Mr. McCreary's health had been failing for the last several mon ths, he was not confined to the bed until the Monday preceding his deat h, and the moment of resolution came with the practically no warning to t he family. He suffered from a dilated heart which was the cause of death.
Besides Mrs. McCreary two sons and two daughters survive, and the arr angements for the funeral will not be annoucned until the sons and daughte rs are heard from. The son Willis M. McCreary, is engaged in the gener al merchantize business at Scottsbluff; James R. McCreary is a gradua te of the state manual training normal school of Pittsburgh, Kas., a nd is now located near Peoria, Ill. A daughter, Mrs. Mary Bickel, is loca ted in Peoria and Miss Dorothy lives at home in Hastings.

Word was received by William McCreary of New Wilmington of the dea th of his nephew, Willis Pearson McCreary, of Hastings, Neb., on March 1 6, 1919. He was born in Hickory township in 1854 and was the son of Nan cy Dean and Pearson McCreary, both of pioneer families of Lawrence count y. Going west when a small boy after the death of his father, he studi ed law and settled in Hastings, Neb. He was prominently identified with t he business interests of his state and city. His wife, two sons and two d aughters survive, and also many relatives in this city and county.
Living with mother and step-father, Henry Alter. Willis was age 6.
